Green Room Series, Week #7 - Welcome to Loreley, Germany!

Hey,

I hope you’re doing well! It’s Sunday evening right now, a few minutes before midnight, and I’m in my room in our Cologne home where we just had an incredible dinner time with our very dear and forever friends Marcus and Caroline, who own the house they so generously share with us.

We wanted to celebrate how the past 9 weeks have simply been incredible, inspiring, memorable, and hundreds of stories have been shared around a table we’ll all be missing starting next Monday as we’ll be headed back to Montreal for the next chapter of our journey.

But before we hit what will be an incredible week of three shows all leading toward this free concert in Cologne next Saturday, I wanted to leave you with something quite unique, powerful, and hopefully inspirational for you all!

Loreley… The legend of a beautiful maiden who threw herself into the Rhine River in despair over an unfaithful lover and was transformed into a mermaid who lured fishermen to destruction, with the Loreley rock also referred to as a "kind of shrine". It is one of the best known outdoor amphitheaters, which was built back in the days by the Nazi regime for cultural events.

The cool thing is that, since 1976, when Genesis played there, it has been used mainly for rock concerts afterwards! Several legends who have played there include the Ramones, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Kinks, R.E.M., and Muse!

What an incredible privilege and blessing it has been for us to set foot on this stage and create an unforgettable moment with everyone that night!

So, I wanted to do a special video for all of you who weren’t there, hoping you’ll get the vibe and spirit of this iconic and sadly last edition of the Night of the Prog Festival!!!

Let’s be great to one another!

Your host and friend,
Jeff
