Alex Henry Foster’s new album cover and packages are waiting for you!

I hope you are doing well...! Today is one of those days that I’m very excited about, because I’ve been waiting for this for almost an entire year! I’m very pleased to introduce you to Alex Henry Foster's new musical journey, titled “Standing Under Bright Lights”, recorded live on July 5th, 2019, as Alex was headlining the very prestigious Festival International de Jazz de Montréal!

This concert was Alex’s very first time on stage under his personal name following such a long and very hard personal journey after the way-too-early passing of his father in 2014. We were 11 musicians on stage that evening, playing in front of a sold-out Club Soda, with people from all around the world who had come and gathered to celebrate Alex’s unexpected but awaited comeback! Alex would always tell me he never wanted to perform his album "Windows in the Sky" live, no matter what promoter or festival was trying to make this happen. And trust me, he made it pretty clear! After a few weeks, this idea of headlining the Jazz Festival kept growing in Alex's heart and mind, and at some point, unexpectedly, he came to me and said something like, "I know if I'm not doing it now, I might never do it. And I think this would be a serious mistake. I think that I'm ready to share my story and honor my father's passing, but this will take a lot of courage..."

But that night, I realized that it’s once communed that every word and sound has the ability to grow beyond the emotions they were created from, making them somehow eternal... just like my father. Therefore, the sole concern that now remains is how willing I am to face the fear to be left alone night after night when I let go of him, when I don’t have any more reasons not to assume who I am now, to stand under bright lights, whatever it may reveal to myself and others.” -Alex

"Standing Under Bright Lights" will be available on April 16, but every preorder comes with the instant download of an unreleased track, "The Son of Hannah" starting February 5.

Originally set to be released on October 8th of 2020, which would have been my father’s birthday, I decided to utilize the extra time the worldwide pandemic would give me to produce the album "Standing Under Bright Lights" featuring the never-released song “The Son of Hannah” with Ben Lemelin, my longtime creative partner and co-producer on “Windows in the Sky”. - Alex
