Alex Is Back Home in Virginia ⛰ - From Tangier With Love [Series #4]

Hey,

I hope you’re doing well! I’m on the train between Tangier and Casablanca right now… Can’t believe I’m already heading to the airport, and that this is my last Club Missive from Morocco – for now of course! I’m listening to my old school hip hop playlist as I’m quite tired and don’t want to fall asleep, so those pretty cool grooves from the 80s and the 90s are doing quite a great job on keeping me awake!

What a month it has been! I was so delighted to share our rooftop view with you, to have the huge privilege to interview Alex 48 hours before he got to the hospital for his open-heart surgery, to walk with you in the Petit Socco (my favorite place in Tangier), to show you where this love story with Tangier all started for Alex and where he wrote the lyrics of Windows in the Sky, and the grande finale, today, as I’m bringing you with me close to the downtown area, where all of Tangier’s nightlife is happening! 

But the greatest of all news happened last Friday when I received this picture shared below, as Alex had just arrived home in Virginia! It is such a relief for him and for us all. I couldn’t wait for this moment to happen, especially being so far out and with the time difference making things a little more complicated at times. But now he’s home, and recovery will be his main focus, which is pretty cool, to say the least! 

I’m leaving you with a last video for this first “From Tangier With Love” series, but worry not, we’ll be back in this wonderful city in a heartbeat! I’m always sad when it comes to leaving Tangier, but this time is a little different, as we have a big year ahead, all about music and concerts, and it’s now time to move on! 

As you’re reading this, I’m in London for a music conference until March 4. I’ll be joining Alex very soon – I’ll definitely let you know shortly! I hope it’s going to be next week, depending on how he feels! 

In the meantime, I started reading the book I told you about a few weeks ago during those last train and plane rides! I’m not the TV or movie type, so reading and listening to music has always been more my cup of tea (yes, tea, I’m in London!) 

I truly can’t wait to share the open conversation Alex and I are having about how this story is moving us as we’re starting to get ready for the next album!
