Alex and I are very proud to present you the official video for the song Lavender Sky in grande premiere!

The video will be released on Friday, June 26, but we absolutely had to show you before everyone else!

A FILMING TRIP TO ICELAND

Alex and I had the chance to walk on those very unique landscapes filled with magic and wonders Iceland generously has to offer. We spent an entire week driving around the country with a small group of friends and video crew facing various fascinating weather conditions, even for us Canadians. Landing in a new country, to me, is one of the greatest feelings there is. It fills my mind, my heart, and my soul with the never-ending possibilities of the new discoveries each trip can bring up to the surface, and trust me, Iceland was no exception to that.

Besides the amazing volcanic rock fields covered in snow, the beautiful icy mountains surrounding us, and the exciting feeling of discovering what seems like a new planet, what I remember the most about this trip to Iceland was the vibe we shared amongst the traveling crew. Knowing the entire story and spirit that led to the creation of the song Lavender Sky, we were all very humble in front of such powerful sceneries.

The constant winds were incredibly powerful, they were filled with an ever-changing intensity, bringing with them all sorts of elements, sometimes snow, sometimes rain, often both at the same time, always challenging us to pursue the emotions we wanted to capture and immortalize a very few flashes of shining gleams, a magnificent and evolving spectacle we felt incredibly privileged to be part of, bringing us a little closer to one another as we were all trying to adapt to a land that never surrendered its freedom to anyone who even dared to try and tame its fierce independent nature.

Every morning we would all wake up quite early and get ready for what would be a very long and intense day. There’s so much beauty in Iceland! The long silences, the loneliness, the immensity of the landscapes, the uncertainty of the weather, the very welcoming people... A country of contrasts, a country of paradoxes...Honoring the unique character of the country we were discovering greatly helped us to learn about ourselves.

Therefore, even if it would have been easy to slow the cadence, we were always coming back at night being completely exhausted, wet and freezing, but nevertheless, eager to discover what tomorrow had in mind for us. All of those single moments made our trip there quite memorable, unforgettable, especially throughout the spirit in which it was happening.
