I hope you had a weekend as great as we had here at the HTR headquarters! I can't believe it's already been a month since we started sharing together about the Standing Under Bright Lights project from Alex! This album is so dear to our hearts since we all gave life to something way greater than ourselves that night, and it's already the time for me to share a new trailer related to the next video, "Winter Is Coming In"!
Alex being in Virginia, and me being in Montreal, we're trying to make the most of this reality through Zoom, WhatsApp, Facetime meetings, much like everybody else! Even though this is far from being the same as sharing a moment together in person, we had a great conversation about this song, which Alex recalled being one of the songs he spent the longest time on the lyrics.
He mentioned this about "Winter Is Coming In":
"I don’t have much of a writing method when it comes to lyrics, if for the fact that I usually have to complete enough of a song’s body in the same draft to actually consider adding it to my writing book. I always find it difficult to trust an emotion that requires sessions and sessions of writing and rewriting. I’m not talking about looking for the right word or defining a more honest way of expressing myself - this comes in the “live” writing sessions. But I never really insist if I’m unable to find what I call the source. But sometimes, not finding this source haunts me. And “Winter Is Coming In” is one of those songs…"
It’s with the same state of mind and heart that I have the chance to share a short excerpt of what the upcoming video will look and sound like...! We are releasing the video on Friday, March 12th! Exciting days ahead! :) More of that story about the song to follow....
